Hi friends! Just want to say thank you for sticking with me thus far on my bikini competition prep. I hope you’ve enjoyed following my journey as much as I’ve enjoyed writing about it every week. I’m sure things will only get more and more interesting as food is cut and the weeks wane down.
This week was SO exciting. I sent in my M3 registration. My make up for the show is booked. My tanning appointment is booked. My suit…. I’ll keep that a secret for now. 😉
The form was pretty easy to navigate. It had all the info about the host hotel, venue, times/places, prices, etc. It listed the divisions and classes and all you had to do was pick what you wanted to sign up and write the check. This show is pretty new (their 2nd year) so there is only 4 classes of open bikini. I fell into class C – which is 5′ 5.5″ to 5′ 7″. To compete in one class, it cost $100. I also signed up to get my photos emailed to me for an additional $25. I folded up my registration form, wrote out a check for $125, and sealed the envelope. Off to Wisco it goes!
For M3, I am having my make up done by the show’s sponsored artist, Megan Melone (@meganmeloneofficial). It’s my first time working with her, but from what I have seen and what she’s said to me – I can tell it’s going to be an incredible experience. I emailed her and I was responded to within 10 minutes. From there, she sent me more info and told me what I needed to do if everything looked “OK” and I wanted to move forward. Make Up only is $140, and I had to PayPal $40 to her to hold my spot. I’ll be giving her the remainder of the balance at the show! Megan asked what color my suit was (I told her, but ya’ll have to wait a little longer!), and even for a headshot so she could make sure she has the right lashes for my face and shape of my eyes. A true professional! She also asked if I need a recommendation for lipstick. We are going to go with a deep berry to compliment my hair, skin tone, and suit color. I have an appointment for 7:45am. With pre-judging at 10am, this is a PRIME appointment time! I’m really looking forward to working with her.
I’ll be getting sprayed by the sponsored company of M3, 50 Shades of Spray. Different from my shows in MN, you only get one tanning appointment and then you come back in the morning for touch ups (first come, first serve). Tanning is a little more expensive than my last shows… About $125 for the tan. I PayPal’d my $50 retention fee to hold my spot and I’ll be paying the remaining at the show like my make up. Because I scheduled so early, I got to pick a pretty good time… I asked for a time later in the evening because I needed to commute 4 hours from MN. Lucky for me, my appointment is at 8pm.
Those are all the updates I have for now. Check back next week (hopefully) for my suit reveal!
I can’t believe how quickly it has all gone by so far. It seems like last week I started prepping for this show. I’m not burnt out, I’m not hungry, and I’m not sick of my “bro” foods.
