Hi everyone! I’m back for my second season of blog writing. After some time away from fitness blogging, I’m ready to get back into it full force. I’ve never stopped writing – I just had some other projects I’ve been working on. Before I start with my weekly check-in posts, here’s a little life update of what I’ve been up to during my off-season and so far into my 2017 prep:
- I’m a student at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities where I study journalism with an emphasis on professional writing. I’m also working towards a minor in nutrition to supplement my degree in Exercise Science. I really enjoy school and I enjoy learning. It’s taken up a very large portion my free time and I unfortunately had to sacrifice writing for the time being to focus on my school work.
- For 6 months, I was taking part in a writing internship for an online community called Odyssey. Kind of like Buzzfeed or Society19, but smaller. I wrote over 30 articles for the website and I really grew as a writer over my time with them. Due to this hefty commitment, writing started to feel like a chore. Once I fulfilled my 6 months, I was so done. I stopped writing for Odyssey to recover and rediscover my love and passion for writing. I finally feel like it’s back! I wrote several fitness related blogs which I’ll link below:

- I’m engaged!!! On May 21, 2017, my best friend got down on one knee and asked me to marry him in front of hundreds of people – my students, my family, and all my best friends. It was a dream come true and I’m so excited to spend my life with him. We’ve started to plan our wedding for October 2018.
