Read on to learn more about the woman behind Bloom Fitness LLC.
What does she do with dance?
Katelyn has been dancing since she was 9 years old. As a competitive dancer, she won national and regional titles across the country. At 17, she started teaching dance and choreographing for local studios in the metro area. Today, she teaches at JAMM Dance Companie in Rosemount, MN, where she works with competitive students in all styles of dance, ages 7-18. Her choreography has received more than three dozen awards of recognition in choreographic excellence and even co-choreographed an Industry Dance Award-winning routine in 2014.
What about writing?
Currently, Katelyn is the editor of Midwest Home magazine, where she leads the strategic content development behind the publication’s print, digital, and social media platforms. You can see more of her feature-length published work in Minnesota Monthly, Real Food, Minnesota500, 2019 Official Visitor’s Guide Minneapolis, 2019 Bloomington/MOA Visitor’s Guide, and more.
And you’re telling me she’s qualified to do this, too?
Definitely. Katelyn has a degree in exercise science (received in 2015) and is a NASM-certified personal trainer. She’s also accumulated extensive coaching knowledge and training from her own coach, Paul Adeleke. Katelyn started competing in bodybuilding competitions in 2015.
Though she doesn’t believe her bodybuilding competition results make her qualified to be a trainer, she undoubtedly has seen success in the NPC competitive bikini division. She is a 5x bikini class champion and has taken 1st place wins across the country in Minnesota (2), Wisconsin, South Dakota, and Texas. In August 2017, she competed in her first national-level competition in Pittsburgh, PA where she placed 4th among the top competitors in the nation.
Why does she want you to know this about her?
Well, to show you she understands what it’s like to be busy. She gets how it feels to have a never-ending to-do list that becomes more and more debilitating and stressful by the day. To have your attention being pulled in every direction. To never have a break. And she knows that you’re busy, too. She’s here to help you navigate the muddy waters of taking your current lifestyle and transforming it into a healthier, happier, more fulfilling one.
